Step 1

Preparing the Apples and Dough :

  • Melt butter in a pan, add sliced apples and sugar, and cook on high heat until lightly browned. Alternatively, caramelize the apples directly in the tart mold.

  • Melt butter with water and salt. Pour into flour and stir with a fork. Add an egg yolk, form into a ball, and roll out with a rolling pin.

Step 2

Assembling and Baking :

  • Arrange caramelized apples with their sauce in a tart mold. Place the rolled-out dough on top, tucking the edges around the apples.

  • Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 40 minutes, until the dough is golden brown.

  • Turn the tart upside down onto a plate and serve warm with fresh cream, mascarpone, or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
